Professor, Medicine - Behavioral Psychiatry

MD and residency in internal medicine at Yale 1963-70. Research associate at NIH 1970-72. Joined Duke faculty in 1972. Research focus has been on role of psychosocial factors in CVD, more recently incorporating genetic approaches to identify gene variants that increase pre-disease endophenotype expression in persons exposed to chronic or acute stress.
